Julien meets a cloaked stranger in Montmartre Cemetery. The disguised figure explains the secret history of the Holy Grail and its connection to the House of Lorraine. Lorraine’s family has made numerous attempts over the centuries to seize the throne of France, and now the current Duke of Lorraine is close to finally suceeding.
The next day, Lorraine sabotages negotiations with the Holy Roman Empire.
Julien and Albert also discover the key to the encrypted scrolls Julien stole from the Church of the Magdalene in Issue 6, but just as they uncode the message they are are seized by the Inquisition.
